This quilt sold for fifteen hundred dollars($1500.00)! Like i said Wowzers!

Every year at my sons school they have a really nice dinner and auction fundraiser. And each year all classes complete a class project that is then auctioned off. This is our first year in school so actually our first year to participate in this event.

Anyone that knows my family knows that my mom makes quilts. It's a hobby of hers and we all love getting a quilt from her. My son's teacher is family to our family (in-laws) and knows that my mother makes quilts. Well, she got me to recruit her in this class project. Each child in the class stenciled a bear onto a fabric square, then my mom made it into a class quilt. ♥ that Little Golden Book fabric. So cute!

Many of you have expressed lately that you are tired of winter and you can't wait until spring. I however cannot share these feelings. Having a mild winter but with more than usual rain (not enough for me though), I still am not tired of winter.
God's beauty that is currently surrounding me!

My wake-up call.

I recently celebrated a birthday and this is what was played right when I woke. Dad (hubby) was already at work but he got our son all set up on what to do. I got up and he says "mom come here". Then he goes over to the computer and clicks play. Then points to my gifts behind the computer. (I'll share those in another post.) Thank you guys! I love you!

This song is actually a tradition that started when my husband and I got married. On his birthday that first year I blasted this song on our home stereo to wake him. Then to my surprise he did the same thing on my birthday and now it's our little tradition. We kinda kept it low-key for a few years while having babies and not quite wanting to wake them. Played it quietly or waited til they woke but now I think it's time we blast that home stereo every birthday morning and wake up the neighborhood! What do you think?

I heart Pizza! Absolutely love it. When asked my favorite food, it's pizza. My husband and one of my kiddos likes it just as much as the next person, but my other kiddo shares this love of pizza with me. We should have a pizza place. ;)

Don't you think this is the prefect valentine gift for 2 pizza lovers? My husband had this Heart Shaped Pizza made for us for valentine's day. Isn't it sweet? Thank you Sweetheart. I love you!
All you need is pizza, pizza's all you need.

DIY Valentine Wreath

Tuesday, February 2, 2010

I made this simple wreath for our front door.

Supplies:
Foam Wreath
Straight Pins
Wire
Boa
Spray paint to match the boa.
First paint your foam wreath. You really can skip this step if you use more than one boa to fully cover your wreath. But I'm a penny pincher.
Next wrap the wire around the foam wreath then adjust as needed to make a hook for hanging.

Hold the boa on the wreath and place a straight pin through the end to hold it in place. I'm sure you can use any other means to fasten your boa to your wreath but I wanted to be able to remove it if needed.
Finally (sorry no picture) wrap the boa around the foam wreath. Try to evenly space each wrap/pass. And fasten at the end with another straight pin.

That's it! Now go hang it somewhere! I chose red for Valentine's Day. But you could do it in any color for any holiday. Ohh imagine red, white and blue for a patriotic wreath!
