Happy Anniversary
I remember this beautiful, perfect day, it was the best wedding I have ever been to! ;) We just finished walking up the aisle in that photo while the song below was playing.

It's our song! I know. I know. It's not romantic but it's real and perfect! We had to include it in the wedding.

So what's your song?
Our wedding colors were celadon (green) and lilac (purple) what were yours?
Are you gonna watch the royal wedding?

Easter Sunday

Matthew 28 (New Living Translation)

The Resurrection
1 Early on Sunday morning,[a] as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb.

2 Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. 3 His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. 4 The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint.
5 Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. 7 And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember what I have told you.”
8 The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the disciples the angel’s message. 9 And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Go tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.”

The Report of the Guard
11 As the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and told the leading priests what had happened. 12 A meeting with the elders was called, and they decided to give the soldiers a large bribe. 13 They told the soldiers, “You must say, ‘Jesus’ disciples came during the night while we were sleeping, and they stole his body.’ 14 If the governor hears about it, we’ll stand up for you so you won’t get in trouble.” 15 So the guards accepted the bribe and said what they were told to say. Their story spread widely among the Jews, and they still tell it today.

The Great Commission
16 Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him—but some of them doubted!
18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[b] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Lots of Easter egg dyeing going on everywhere! We just did ours and I wanted to share them with you. Cause they are sooooooo pretty!

 Love all the bright color.

Also managed to squeeze in some silk dyed Easter eggs this year. While the kiddos were dying theirs I had these lovelies boiling!

Tried something a little different this time. We left off the outer white fabric wrapping. I wanted to see if this step could be eliminated and they still came out just fine! Yay! You can find instructions for these silk dyed eggs HERE.

I like this orange one ↓ for some reason. And several of them look like tattoos to me.

Can you see Mickey in the one below?
Have you done your eggs yet? Have you ever tried the silk dyed eggs?

Update on Ella's Bear / Questions for my gardening friends.

Hi friends! I recently had a sweet follower ask about Ella's Bear. It has now been over a year that my husband transplanted his mom's bear. You can read about that here. I am happy to report that she is doing fantastic!!! Current picture.

I need to figure a way to attach a pink ribbon to her. In memory of Ella. Got any ideas???

I am sooo loving being out in the yard this spring! I think cause the boys are a bit bigger. Since I had them I have not wanted to be out working in my garden like I used to.

One thing in particular I am excited about is my Dichondra seed that is taking off!!!
I planted this stuff last year with no luck! Totally my fault as I did not plant it at the proper time. It was too hot! Which happens quite soon here in sunny CA. And this year!!! Yay!! I hope to show you this entire area this summer. It is gonna be beautiful!

Now some questions for my gardening friends. I showed you a picture of my cherry blossoms in the last post. This cherry tree was here when we moved in almost 6 years ago and last year was the first year it blossomed. I got all excited thinking yay cherries but then nothing.

1. Is it normal for a cherry tree to have no blossoms the first few years?
2. Is it normal to have no cherries the first year that it does blossom?

This year I was not expecting much from the blossoms thinking I got a non producing cherry tree. Then I see this!
3. Is that a cherry my friends?! Please confirm that this is a cherry!

And a few more pictures to help you determine.

My final question, if this little tree does produce cherries this year, should it continue to produce them every year after this?

Thank you for your help with my cherry tree!

I love winter, I love fall, I don't care for summer, but there is just something about nature awakening from hibernation in the spring time. Absolutely beautiful!

And my fig tree, my big lovely fig tree. I took some time but oh how I have grown quite fond of you ole tree.
With your lovely new leaves. And your sweet growing fruit.
 Just look at that fruit.
Thank you Lord for blessing me with this beauty we call spring.
Oh how He must love us to surround us with this beauty.
Please enjoy this day and take a moment, to take it ALL in.

An April Fools Day Story {With Guest}

Friday, April 1, 2011

Hi there. Well today is April Fools Day so Happy April Fools Day! This day will always hold fond memories for me. And to share why I have my sweet husband here today! Take it away sweetie!

Hi guys, well my crazy idea having wife asked me to share this with you, so here I go. It was April 1, 1999. The day I asked my wife to go out on our first date. I really liked her and I  thought she was very attractive and a great person. But I couldn't get the courage to ask her out. So I asked a coworker of ours (we met at work) to ask her what she thought of me. He told me that she liked me! I was hoping he was telling me the truth. Cause two days later on April 1st I walked up to her and asked her if she would like to go to dinner and a movie with me. To my surprise she said YES!

I was so happy I was floating on a cloud! When I got home and was talking to my mom (I was young then and still lived at home.) she asked me why I was so happy. I told her that I had asked a girl from work to go out on a date and she said YES! My mom started laughing. She was rolling! When I asked her why she was laughing at me she reminded me that it was April Fools Day! The entire night I was wondering if her big YES answer was really a big JOKE!

The next day I walked up to her at work and asked her if we were still on for our date. And yes the answer was still YES, though she looked strangely happy when I confirmed. Come to find out (a couple of months later) she though I was April Fooling her by asking her out on that day!

It has been 12 years since then and the happiest years of my life.

Thank you sweetie for sharing one of our great stories! So you see folks, I will always have great thoughts on this day! As it all turned out for the absolute BEST!!! I got the boy!!!

Just wait till you hear what happened on that first date. Yikes! Maybe I'll share that one day. If my real life BFF was a blogger she would for sure be telling ya in the comments section, cause she thinks it's just as hilarious as being asked out on April Fools Day!

Thanks for reading and have a great April Fools Day!
