Hi there thrifty friends. It's my 1000 followers giveaway week so be sure to enter! You WONT want to miss it!

This week I want to share the awareness ribbon garden stakes my awesome husband is making from old, used horseshoes. We are getting ready for Christmas season craft fairs and these are also listed on the website and on etsy. These can be done in ANY color for any cause.
The breast cancer one is our favorite though. It reminds us of his mom (husband's).
Here he is in action. Yeah we kind of like to play with fire around here.

If anyone has several old, used horseshoes (calling all horse people!) that you don't need, we may be interested in them. Please contact us if that's you. So that's what we've been up around here.

Now how about some fun features from last week?

Number Fifty-Three shares this great chair redo.
Isn't she purrrrrdeeee?

Idle Needle shows us this neat Pyrex! I have actually never seen this patten, so fun.

Mmini Matriarchin shares a few neat things including the little candle holders
and the two lovelies that look like creamers to me.

Hi friends welcome back for Thrifty Love! Were you able to make it out for some thrifting this week? I quickly want to encourage you to check out this post about my 1000 followers giveaway! I am approaching 1000 followers (only 5 away!) and when I get there I want to have a BIG giveaway. I am looking for prizes so if you want to donate let me know. All the details can be found over HERE. I'd love to include some of my thrifty friends!

Here's the bit of haul I was able to snag this week. I was pretty excited to find the jars! I have been looking at decorative jars for some time now. They are something I want to include in my office/craft room makeover. The best deal I've found so far is at Walmart for about $7-12 for a small one. These two are HUGE and I got both for $6.34! The big one has to be a 3 or 4 gallon! Also pictured are a cute skirt, a nice sized ceramic pumpkin and a large, nice laptop bag.
Ever kick yourself for not picking something up? That was me this week. I found these really neat medical models of the fetus in utero. There were 6 and each at a different stage. They wanted ten bucks for all 6 and I passed them up. Came home and looked them up and they are going for about $89 a PIECE! That's over $500 for the set! UGH!!! I went back and yep you betcha they were GONE!

Now for some features from last week!
Island Rustic shares the makeover of this
most wonderful wagon. I LOVE it!!!

Thrift Bee shows us some great table cloths!
Here's just a sample of one.

Sustainable | Slow | Stylish brings us these pretty awesome bowls.
I can't ever resist a Pyrex photo, how about you? Those polkadots are amazing!

Alrighty! Show us what you picked up lately!

The Secret Behind Making the Fruit of the Spirit Come Alive

15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Hard as we try, we cannot bear fruit apart from Christ. It all begins with a personal relationship with him. We may be able to "fake" it for awhile. And by that I mean put up a good front for a short time, through good intentions of our own combined with our own effort and strength. However, it will not last...eventually we will burn out.

We must first put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ and then rely on him daily to fill us up, making us more and more like himself until we get to heaven, at which point we will be made whole, perfect, just like he is.

So as you and your family work together Making the Fruit of the Spirit Come Alive in Your Home, remember that we cannot truly bear fruit apart from Christ and that we will never actually be perfect until we get to heaven. So try not to be too hard on your precious kiddos (talking to myself here).

The other day my 4 year old said "Mom, I really do WANT to be good," after getting himself into trouble yet again. I just had to laugh out loud as I was reminded of Paul's words in Romans 7:14-25...

14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. 15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[c] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
21 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Can I get an AMEN?!

And if you have not trusted Christ as your personal savior, please take the time to read this. You never know  how much time you have left to make the most important decision of your life.

This is the final post in our Making the Fruit of the Spirit Come Alive in Your Home series. I hope you enjoyed the series, it was definitely a joy for me to learn along with you each week. Please share it with your friends!

Happy Wednesday, friends!
