 The lovely Heather Bullard has allowed us to share her idea on how to pretty up some plain ole grocery store flowers.

Most of us see grocery store flowers on a weekly basis while we're running to pick up the usual milk, butter and eggs. Sometimes the bundles seem a little sterile. Tightly bound and shrink wrapped. It's hard to find them as lovely as a bouquet from a floral shop or even our own backyard gardens.
I thought I'd share a quick way to spruce them up and give them that wow factor for very little money and only a few minutes of prep time.

• Purchase a bundle or two from your local store.
• The two I bought cost $9 for both.
• Gather a few "extra" flowers, branches or vines from your garden.
• Go through your ribbon stash and choose your favorites.
• Think about a variety of colors and textures when choosing.

• Dig up some old jewelry. Pins, brooches, clips or earrings work well.
• If you don't have those on hand, make a cute homemade tag instead.
• A tiny picture frame, antique key or locket would be pretty too.

• Divide the flowers and foliage into several posie bundles.
• Clip all the stems at an angle as evenly as possible.
• A small Ziploc bag will hold water. Secure with a rubber band.

• I love using brown kraft paper to wrap them. It adds an earthy, natural feel. 
• You could also use gift wrapping paper or vintage wallpaper.
• Scallop the edges with decorative scissors for a finished look.

• Tie your pretty posie with a beautiful ribbon.
• And finally, add your favorite embellishment or gift tag!

These would make lovely hostess gifts or could be given as bridal shower or party favors. Very simple to do, gentle on our wallets and packed with thoughtfulness. Be sure to let me know if you give it a try and have fun!

Absolutely love this mason jar soap dispenser by Heather Bullard and she was kind enough to let us share it here on the Cap Creations blog! Here it is in her own words.

I made this Mason Jar Soap Dispenser to use on my potting bench. I'm always needing to wash my hands after working in the garden and this sturdy jar should last me a lifetime of hand scrubbing. I think it would look just as great in a bath or kitchen and I thought some of you might want to make one too. Here's how to do it:

Gather your supplies...old plastic soap bottle, mason jar, 2 part epoxy, drill, scissors and marker. A box cutter also came in handy in removing the top of the soap bottle.

Cut off the top of the soap bottle leaving the screw threading intact. Also leave a small rim just below the threads for the epoxy. Drill a hole in the mason jar lid so your bottle top will fit through it snugly.

Mix the epoxy according to the package directions and apply to lower rim of bottle top. This will make a water tight seal. Please excuse my hand model...he's been building a hen house (chicken mansion) for us and is a bit dirty. But that's another story for another day.

Lastly, insert the pump through the hole and screw tightly to secure. Let it dry according to the epoxy instructions before using. If you're not worried about the seal being water tight and don't mind the pump spinning around you can completely skip the epoxy step. It's entirely up to you. : )  All that's left is to fill it with your favorite soap and put it to good use.
