A new adopting family! Yeah!

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. (James 1:27)

Hey there! Have you looked around you lately? If you do you just may notice that there are a lot of people tyring to adopt! It makes me happy! How about you?

Meet Matthew & Sarah Rideout. They are one of the families that we are helping to raise money for their adoption. Matthew and I have been married for 2 and a half years and live in Asheville, NC. I am an RN, and after the earthquake this year, went down to aid in disaster relief at a clinic in Penier, outside of Port-au-Prince. Once arriving, God had other plans for me that specific trip, and I ended up at Children of Hope Orphanage and Hospice to take care of the little ones there that hadn't had a check up in a while. There, I met Ashley, and our world turned upside down. Since then, we have been pursuing her adoption as the process of patience grows us stronger as a family.

Adoption was always "plan A" for us, we just didn't know it was going to be God's plan for our first little one until now. As you can imagine, we are thrilled to be chosen to be Ashley's parents, and despite the hardships, we press on, knowing that His plans are good and His timing is perfect, no matter the outcome. The greatest thing we are learning in this process is that she is HIS and not ours...and that even if she never gets to actually be in our home due to some unforeseen circumstance, she is always HIS and always in our hearts. And she will always be HIS even if she gets to be ours legally someday. We have committed to love her and support her, no matter what the outcome. The products you are buying are bringing us one step closer to having her in our arms. Thank you for supporting us and helping us to love her!!!!

  1. What a great thing they are doing! Both in going there to volunteer, and now working to bring home a most precious gift.
