The Legend of Saint Christopher

Friday, September 3, 2010

New in the shop is the sterling silver Saint Christopher necklace.

Legend has it that Christopher was a giant of a man who made a living carrying people across the river. One day a child he was carrying became almost unbearably heavy and he feared they would not make it across. The Child revealed that he was Christ and the weight of the world was what he bore. The name Christopher means Christ-bearer.

Did you know St. Christopher is know as the patron saint of travelers and is called upon against dangers from waters. Very popular among surfers as a good luck piece to protect them while surfing. Click HERE for more info!
