Do you like to shop?

I know I do! And shopping online makes it so easy these days.

Just recently a very neat company was brought to my attention. It's called CSN Stores. Let me tell you, this company is huge and by huge I mean they offer a ton of products. I'm talking tons! Fire pits, corner tv stands, home decor, shoes and more! They even have school and office supplies from their 200 + stores to shop from.

Imagine my excitement when I was asked to review a product from CSN Stores! Lucky me! Be sure to come back and see what I choose! Until then go see what they have to offer. I know you'll find something you like or have been wanting!

nothing

sometimes.
i've just got nothing.
nothing to blog about that is.
how about you?

So not much for today
except...
...our anniversary dinner date went wonderful.
We went to our favorite tiny Mexican restaurant.
Then over to our favorite ice cream parlor.
Hot fudge sundae for him and black & tan for me!

We got to enjoy each other's company in peace. Sometimes you need that.
It was wonderful!

Thanks so much for all of your happy anniversaries! I appreciate that!

9 Years Ago Today

This girl married her love!
Perfect Love! That's the name of our song, by Trisha Yearwood. It's engraved in his wedding band. He purposed at a Trisha Yearwood concert during this song. (not on stage) And it was played at our wedding during the recessional. It was perfect!

We got the boys a sitter for the evening so we get to celebrate over dinner. A peaceful dinner!

From day one I have loved his sense of humor. Come on now it takes a sense of humor to put up with that much cake smooched on your face!

And his crazy character!

And there are a ton of other things that I love about him. He is an awesome husband, provider and father, just to name a few. I love you Sweetie! Happy Anniversary!

As I look at these photos I think man we were young and as Anita Renfroe says "Little did we know".

Although it's been a great 9 years at times I can totally relate to this video. How about you? (Pause our blog music at the bottom.) Thanks Amy for sharing this video!

Before and After - Frame to Jewelry Caddy/Organizer

As you may have guessed I like jewelry. But I don't like wearing some of my jewelry in the shower, pearls and handmade jewelry especially. So I created this little jewelry caddy!

I found this neat little/perfect size frame at the thrift store. Took the picture out and spray painted the frame in my fave color. Next I picked out a fabric that I love, did an accordion like fold to create pockets, then pressed. Sandwiched the fabric between the frame and the original picture. Trimmed the excess fabric on the back side but leaving enough on the sides to pull the pockets out a bit. Then covered the back with the frame backing. That was it! You could probably tape or glue your fabric too for more support, but this one is pretty tight so I didn't. Isn't it great?!

Now let me explain something. I have one of those tiny 3/4 bath rooms. You know, corner shower, pedestal sink and not a cupboard in site. Space is very limited! Every time I wear my jewelry I forget to take it off before I go to take a shower and well, I'm left searching for somewhere to put it. Can't put it on the sink cause it might go down the drain, can't put it on the toilet cause gross! And forget about putting it on the floor cause that's just what would happen, I'd forget about it. This seemed like the perfect thing for my tiny space. It fits perfectly on the wall between my shower and my mirror.

(CLOSED) Review & Giveaway - Worthy of the Prize Fit Band

We've got a great giveaway for you today! Have you heard of Fit Bands and Fit Cards? Well if not let me tell you!

My new friends over at Worthy of the Prize Ministries are the makers of Fit Bands and Fit Cards. Fit bands are functional yet stylish wristlets and lanyards for both women and men. They are great for your keys! You can hang them on your wrist or finger to free up your hands when on the go. Another great purpose of the Fit Band is for attaching the Fit Cards.
I personally love the whole concept of the Fit Cards. They are the perfect gift for my family. Fit Cards are a set of prayer cards, memory cards or devotional cards. Each set contains 31 cards, one for each day of the month. Fit Cards were designed to attach to the Fit Band to wear while you warm-up, stretch, walk, jog, or cool-down during your workout. This way you can pray, memorize scripture or do devotionals while you exercise! The idea is to stay spiritually fit, as well as physically fit all at the same time! Great idea right?!
I made a nice little trade with Erin of Worthy of the Prize and now have some bands and cards for my family.

Check these out! They are durable and well made. Both the bands and the cards are very strong. The cards are like a credit card in size and material and they hold up very well. And just look at those bands! So stylish and a great place for your keys! Thank you Erin I love them!

Also want to mention that you need to go over to the Worthy of the Prize blog and check that out. See what they are doing in their ministry (great stuff) and also find out about any sales they have going on!

Want one? Worthy of the Prize has generously offered 50% off your purchase (excludes Fit Cards). They have also offered a special for 1 Band + 1 Set of Cards (a $31.50 value when purchased separately) or a Baby Gift set for only $20!  Just mention Cap Creations when you order to receive this discount! Great Mother's Day or Teacher gift!

Baseball Invitation

This baseball invitation for our baseball party is fairly easy to make. You print out the details of your party on white card stock. Center up the wording and cut with a circle cutter (as always you can cut by hand if needed). Next you punch out an even number of small holes in the shape of an arch (one arch on the top and one arch on the bottom) these will be for the strings of the ball. Use a small red ribbon and thread it through the holes then make a knot on the back at four ends to keep the ribbon from coming out.

We have included the template here if you'd like to use it. It's pretty basic but it may save you some time cause you won't have to figure out where to punch the holes. Click on the image below to enlarge, click again to enlarge even more, right click and save it to your computer. Open the template in a photo editing program and line up the corners with a regular 8.5 x 11 size sheet (use the little black lines for reference). Now you can add your wording/party details. Print it out on white card stock, use the very small and light dot in the center to line up your circle cutter and cut. Punch the holes on all the small dots, make them fairly small. Now your invitation is ready to thread your red ribbon. Our invitation measures 5.25 inches.

Printable Baseball Party Favor Thank You Tags

We used these thank you tags for our baseball party favor bags. We attached them to clothes pins, then placed them on the favor bags to keep shut.
Click on the image below to enlarge, click again to enlarge even more, then right click and save it to your computer. You can print it from your computer as is but for best results open it in a photo editing program and line up the corners with a regular 8.5 x 11 size sheet (use the little black lines for reference) then print.

Once printed, punch out with a 1 3/4 inch puncher (you could hand cut too if needed) and attach to the clothes pin! All done!

These are great as hang tags too! Simply punch a small hole and attach string or ribbon and hang on your party favors! Enjoy!

DIY - Happy Birthday Baseball Banner Printable

The Happy Birthday Baseball Banner was the first thing our guests noticed when they arrived at our baseball party and it was very simple to make!

Using the template below as a guide for measurements cut out triangles from your choice of colored card stock (regular 8.5 x 11) we used red. You will need one triangle for each letter in Happy Birthday and more if you want some blank ones. You will get 3 triangles from 1 sheet of paper.

Printing the baseball letters.
1. Click on the baseball letters below to enlarge.
2. Click on them again to enlarge even more.
3. Right click & save to your computer.
4.You can print it from your computer like a photo but for best results open it in a photo editing program and re size to a regular 8.5 x 11 size sheet (use the little black lines for reference).
5. Print on card stock. You must print the first one twice to have all the letters you will need.
6. Cut out baseball letters with a circle cutter leaving a small white border around the edge.

Glue or tape the balls to the triangles. Punch holes on the top of each side of the triangle with a regular hole puncher, this is where your ribbon will thread through. We punched 2 holes to make it bigger. Thread your choice of ribbon in through the front of the triangle toward the back and then through to the front again. Do this for every letter while putting them in the correct order. Leave extra ribbon to tie on your banner. All done! Hang and enjoy!

(CLOSED) Lovely Handbag from Dolly Outfitters Review & Giveaway

I've got a treat for you today! My friend Lori of Dolly Outfitters has offered one of her lovely handmade Quilted Handbags! These would make excellent Mother's Day gifts!

Dolly Outfitters is the perfect place for all of your doll clothes and doll accessory needs! But, you may not know that Lori also makes some wonderful quilted handbags! I know these bags are so wonderful because she gifted me with one this last Christmas! And I love it!

Let me share about mine and what I love so much about it!

Size = Perfect! Not too big but not too small at 12 inches wide, 11 inches tall, and 4 inches deep.

Pockets & Space - This bag has tons of each! I don't know about you but I hate when I reach in my bag and there is just one large pocket and you have to search over every item in there to find what you needed. Not a problem at all with this one! Six pockets in all to keep your things organized. Two large main zippered pockets to hold your larger items such as wallet, planner, even a water bottle. Inside one of these large pockets you'll find a fairly large zippered side pocket. On the front of this bag there are two more zippered pockets about 6x6 inches. I love these pockets for my cell phone in one and keys in the other. I always know where they are and no panic or search when I need them. And on the back side of the bag there is a slip-in pocket that goes the width of the bag and about 6 inches tall.
Strap - Lori has strategically placed snaps so that you can adjust the strap to three different lengths!

Craftsmanship & Quality - One look and feel of this bag and you will see that it is finely made! It is durable, completely finished and fully lined! No unfinished areas or back side of fabric visable anywhere! The inside of the two smaller front pockets is even lined! And all fabric is quilted.

I also love the fact that this bag is handmade!

Back side and top photos of my lovely bag!
I betcha want one now don't ya?! Dolly Outfitters has offered a special discount! Use coupon code CapBlog at checkout and receive 15% off any order over $25!

Baseball Cupcake Toppers

I designed these cupcake toppers for our recent Baseball Party here. Although I ended up not using them, I'd love to share them with you! Once printed, punch out with a 1 3/4 inch puncher (you could hand cut too if needed.) and tape on the back side to a lollipop stick.

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to offer printable items so you can print them a couple of ways. Either click here to print. This will take you to Scribd to print, but to me they print out blurry/fuzzy. Yeah? Is it just me?

Or click on the photo below to enlarge, click again to enlarge even more, then right click and save it to your computer. You can print it from your computer like a photo but for best results open it in a photo editing program and line up the corners with a regular 8.5 x 11 size sheet (use the little black lines for reference) and print.

Let me know, which way works best for you??? Cause I have some more printables coming soon and need to get this figured out.

Giveaway tomorrow! Baseball stuff will be back on Monday.

Baseball Party

The day before Easter we had a small birthday party for my little guy. He was actually born on Easter a few years back. This kid loves baseball! He likes the movie The Sandlot and because of that movie loves all things baseball. So a baseball theme party was perfect!

I'll share some of the details of his party now and be sure to snag the baseball printables so you can use at your baseball party.

As for the food I don't have much on that. For some reason I didn't take photos of the food. Huh?? We had hot dogs, potato chips, peanuts, popcorn and drinks, typical foods that you would find at a ballgame. We added salad too for those that don't eat the other stuff.

Remember the invitation sets the theme for your party! We made the ball invitations pictured below. Very easy and inexpensive! That's red ribbon. (Coming soon!)
When the guests arrived the first thing they saw was the Happy Birthday baseball banner. Another easy and inexpensive project. (Click here for the banner.)
Each guest, young and old was asked to sign the birthday boy's baseball. He loved this! There is a part in The Sandlot where the characters sign Babe Ruth on a ball and it was kinda like that to him! So cute! :)
For the tables we simply placed a bat, a glove (the balls were being used elsewhere) and peanuts for the guests to enjoy.
Popcorn ready to be popped. We actually got the popcorn popper for Christmas and it came in handy for this party!
We played 3 games. Pin the ball on the bat was one of them. I printed out a bat, top half on one sheet of paper and bottom half on another sheet then lined them up to make the bat. I printed out baseballs with each kids name on card stock. Then placed a small piece of double sided tape on each one.
Pitching was another game. We tied and inflatable pool tube to a small rope and hung it from a tree. The kids had to see how many balls they could pitch through the hole.
The last game was batting. No photo, sorry. We set up the tee for the little ones and the object was to see who could hit the ball the furthest. The big kids simply tossed their own ball up and hit.

We made cupcakes for the cake. Those balls are keychains from the party store. I took off the chain, washed them and they worked great for the cupcake. (Click here to pick up the printable cup cake toppers.)
And last but definitely not least because I heart party favors! Each kid was sent off with a party favor bag! Blue paper lunch sacks from Target, topped and held shut with my latest obsession, clothes pins! Then I stuck on a little thank you favor tag. (Click here for the printable.)  Good stuff inside of these! Peanuts, Cracker Jacks, Sunflower Seeds, Big League Chew, a pack of baseball cards. And because it was at Easter time we found baseballs that were supposed to be plastic eggs (But they were round! Perfect!) We stuffed those with baseball tattoos, baseball eraser and those baseball keychains I was telling you about! They were a hit!
The party went well and the birthday boy had a ball! Be sure to check in soon. Snag the printables here!
